VISUAL RESEARCH
The visual research is a documentation form I practice to materialize a thought or a happening. The materials being used are collected from all around, mostly second hand stores or recycled material. These pieces of paper, or objects has a story on how they got there, who picked them up and saw them. Another aspect is the symbolism they bear. The concept of symbolism has a heavy gravitational pull in the visual research.
College has an unpredictable, surprising aspect to it. Which I like to play with and reincarnate it. Along the process of practicing, cutting and composing, the meaning and the need unveils itself naturally. Bringing new winds in the imagination. The impulse coming from the sternum expands itself onto whatever it can become. The random is embraced in a highly structured world. It is chaos, telling a story.
The visual and movement research deals with the same subjects, but from different qualities. In order to address complex conversations, utilizing from different mediums gives a deeper understanding, and clarity. Therefore it has a very high range of possibilities, that can initiate new understandings and opening meanings.
